Geocache Description:
Kaiyuan Temple is a national monument.
Opening time is 06:00~17:00 every day.
This was originally a villa built by Koxinga's son Cheng Jin for his mother in 1680.
It was rebuilt in 1690, and its name has been changed several times, that's Hai Huei Temple, Kai Yuan Temple and Haijin Temple.
It mainly worships Shakyamuni Buddha, and is the oldest monastery in Taiwan.
The temple is tranquil, with some old banyan trees grown high into the sky, the linden trees evergreen, and the white walls, red tiles and eaves, smooth ridges of the building resembling a pretty drawing.
At the STAGE1 you would see a stele and some elephants.
When you arrive the FINAL, you can first take a rest and have some traditional Taiwan Sweet at the street corner, then start to find out the cache.
This cache's size is between Micro to Small and contains a log sheet and some small stuffs, please bring your own pen to log or borrow one from the very cute store managers. Enjoy!

臺南開元寺位於臺灣臺南市北區，清朝時的柴頭港溪溪畔，於民國七十四年（1985年）8月19日公告為二級古蹟。
該寺創於清朝康熙年間，原稱海會寺，是臺灣著名的寺廟和最早創立的官方寺院，對近代臺灣佛教的發展關係頗深。
